Glitter gal - Lizard Belly

I don't know holos from Adam, since this is only my third holo that I try - ever! Nevertheless, I've had my eye on Lizard Belly for quite some time, even far back when I thought I didn't like holos! Now, it's mine and I've tried it:)

Three coats I think. The brush was a bit wonky so I used my trusted OPI stand-in-brush. The color was just as gorgeously dark and dramatic as I had imagined and the holographic effect is scattered. I think. I don't think I've ever tried a linear one so I'm not sure I know what the difference is...

Kiko - 428 River Green

My mother went to Italy and got me a bunch of Kikos. I had given her a list, but outside of the ones I had asked for she also picked this one out by herself - and - it turns out to be one of the most beautiful polishes I own. Easy two coats with Kiko's fantastic brush, gold and green glass flecks in a tealy green base. Pure perfection!

The book is a great read that you can digest piece-meal. However you dig into it, you will laugh til you risk peeing yourself. Try it!

This polish is my entry for Green Wednesday at Karin's:)

Chirality - Cu2+

I don't think this counts as a classic, in-you-face-rainbows kind of holo, but to me it's clearly holographic. It has that perfect depth and rainbowy look. It was also very easy to apply and covered in two coats. The color is... wonderful. Today, as you notice I'm at a loss for words, and although I loved this polish, this is more due to the fact that it's grading season and my brain is just about fried. So - I'll leave you with the pictures!

Kiko - 640 Poppy Red

This was my first experience with a textured polish. It was very easy to apply and each coat dried quickly. I thought this would be more intensely red, but it was lighter, almost orange in some lights. The glitter was crazy, crazy, over-the-top-glitter. In the end I tried it with top coat (Poshé) as I wasn't quite sold on the finish. This improved it for me, but I still think I will like the creme SugarMats better.

Kiko - 345 Jade Green (but it's really blue!)

Hello! This is blue! Isn't it? I will use it as my entry on Linda's Blue Monday and then we'll see what people have to say on the matter. The shade's name isn't on the bottle (except the number) so imagine my surprise when I looked it up and found it. I will call this Jade Blue. Blue.

Anyway - a sweet faded color. I used two coats and they were quite thick as was the formula. I have already thinned it out in preparation for the next time I use it. It has a flat brush, that is very OPI-like. Very, very good! Plus, it dries quickly and gives my hand that wonderful, pinkish fish-mongering-wife-look that we are all dying to get. I paraded my shit around. Fish-monger-ladies are cooel!

And fish-mongerers' wives don't read books.

Literary Lacquers - If It Pleases You

This is my first ever holo and I'm pretty damn pleased! If It Pleases You by Literary Lacquers is a dark purple but when the rainbows hit, it gives the impression of being a bit brownish as well. Of course, I have nothing to compare this to but the rainbows are very obvious in the sunlight and when I showed people (okay, I forced them to look) they ooohhhed and aaahhhed.

I used my regular base coat, Trind Nail Repair and then three coats of this, topped with a coat of Poshé. I didn't see any difference before and after Poshé and the polish was easy to apply.

Maybe, by now, you are asking: "What about the books? Weren't there supposed to be books here too??" Well, I've been lazy and I've been spending all my money on polishes. This has been an amaaazing polish month for me. Next month, I have taken a solemn vow to buy books instead of polish, so let's hope it gets better.

Here comes the spam, and this is my first ever entry for Skimmerskuggans Holo Friday! Yaaay!!!!

Ninja Polish - Pacific Coral

I am an acknowledged Enigma freak and I have a soft spot for corals, so this shade was the first one to catch my eye when I saw the four, new Engimas being released. As usual though, I discover that coral really isn't a color that looks that good on me. This shade, in itself, is adorable and I love looking at it. I just don't think it suits me that well. Maybe later in summer, when I'm more tan? I'll try it in August and say what I think then!

The shimmer is more subtle here than in the other Enigmas, but it ranges fron golden to green and turquoise and even icey blue in some instances. All in all, this must be the prettiest coral out there!

This is my entry for Emma's pink Thursday:)

Ninja Polish - Shillelagh

It's not easy being green? I beg to differ! There's nothing shy about Shillelagh. In fact, it's one of few polishes I prefer in in-door-lighting. That's when the shimmery pinkish/reddish hues show themselves. In the sunlight, this green will seem glittery rather than shimmery, and that's too much green for me actually. Thus, this will be a winter polish for me, something to remind me of cheerier, merrier times. Below, I've applied three coats of Shillelagh and one of Poshé.
